The GReddy is a COMPLETE kit.
Those eBay cores are like $200 for the 3" thick one and 4" (******' overkill - did you read the recent thread on this???) thick one for $250.
Okay, so you start with a $200 "core".
You still need pipes.
Mild steel...maybe $100, if you're going to do all the cutting and welding yourself.
If not, expect to pay $200 or more for mild steel set-up for a shop to take care of this for you.
If you're going aluminum, then I'd tack on a 50% premium in price for it.
Now, you need silicone couplings to connect the pipes.
I recommend getting two "bump" hoses to help with engine movement and vibration.
Minimum at least two reducers (for the 3" inlet / outlet - you're not going to run 3" IC pipes are you???), two bends and two bump hoses is like $150.
Now, what about a TB adapter?
GReddy one is like $100, or hIGGI offers his version for about the same price.
Add another $100 for miscellanous parts...
So minimally, you're looking at a $600 budget just in parts for something in mild steel.
The GReddy kit is polished aluminum pipes and complete.
If you can handle the labor part yourself, then it might be worth it.
Else, you're going to end up easily paying the same price just to mimic the GReddy kit.

That's a good point.
I forgot you mentioned "13B-RE".
I don't know of anyone currently making a TB adapter - do you have that long snorkel from the 13B-RE???
That would make it a LOT easier to adapt!

i chose 13b-re just because it was different, and people say it's a little more torquey because of how the ports, anyway, you dont need a special fmicooler kit just because of the 13b-re, unless you plan on running p/s, then you would have to re route the pipes somehow.

I'm using the 13B-RE because it has larger ports. The only problem is that the exhaust ports are a little weird and restrictive. Rebuild your 13B-RE with FD rotor housings and whammy she spins my GT30R like nothing!
(Note: That process has been simplified immensely due to lazy poster )

I recently had an RE apart, and was amazed at how SMALL the ports were. Laid my streetport 6 port template over it and sure enough, the RE ports were much smaller then the NA ports. Manifold ports look huge, but internally, they are smaller then the 6 port NA ports.

I must just be used to 4 port motors. It does spin a GT30R about as fast as I need though!

I already have a re in the car; I'm going to be installing the IC soon. The piping should be here Monday. My re has the long snorkel; I'm still searching for the silicone hoses for my pipe. I went with 2.25" OD mild steal. The problem I am running into is getting a 90 degree transition (step) hose that goes from 2.5" to 2.25". I also can't find at 45 degree transition hose from 2.25" to 2.75" The snorkel has an OD measurement of 2.60" and the lip (bead) is 2.67." I was planning on trying a 2.75" which I hope is not too loose with t-bolt clamps.
For my piping, I just bough 4 mandrel j bent 2.25" mild steal from summit. I don't know the size of my IC; it came with the car when I bought it. After measuring everything, I figured 2.25" would be good. I should have used 2.5" so I could have my 90 degree hose, but I'll make something work. I should get the piped bead rolled too so the piping doesn't blow off. I can measure the IC tomorrow if need be.

Not many people have done this swap. Get whatever intercooler is the biggest you can that still fits in the car. Take the front bumper off, get a measuring tape, and find one that fits. It's honestly not hard. If you are having trouble deciding on an intercooler, then the rest of the project is going to be far from fun.

You don't have a stock set-up.
This means you NEED to go custom.
I don't know of anyone who sells a pre-made KIT for it; even if they did, it would be EXPENSIVE, and you're already bitching about the GReddy kits.
If you go single turbo, you can most likely use the GReddy FC3S kits, unless you position the turbo in a radical position.
You want cheap?
Buy an eBay core - biggest one you can put in there - the 24" x 12" x 3" ones are fine, like I said before.
Buy the pipes.
Find someone who can weld the pipes for you.
Buy the silicone hoses and clamps.
Buy or make the TB adapter.
