what are the signs of a failing master brake cyl.?
I have some type of leak on the drivers side of my car, I've tighted all the oil and coolent fitting but yet something is still leaking. Lately when i go out in the morning my brakes are rock soild but if you have to brake really hard they aren't doing so well. Are there any tell tell signs of master brake cyl. failure?

it does look like there is some gunk around the booster where the cylinder goes into it, but my brakes haven't gotten soft. the petal feel is the same but it feels like it takes more pushing to accomplish the same amout of stopping.
just to be safe i think i'm going to replace it. Are there any upgraded cylinders i can get to put in its place? I know on FD's you can replace the master cylinder with the master cylinder off a 929 (i believe) to get better braking.
