Mazda does not publish an idle spec for a street ported motor.

As slpin said, the oficial idle is 750 +/- 25. Depending on how much of a street port you have, you could need to bump it up some.

How to set idle on turboII..

OK dumb?? I just got a s5 but the idle is set at 1500rpm. The owner said it's got a street port and that is what was recomended. I want to lower it a little but dunno how. Can anybody post pics as to what i'm supposed to adjust.

Officially 750 RPM. I'm an idle ****....All my cars idle perfectly at 750 RPM and it drives me crazy if the idle is higher or lower.

With a ported engine you may find that you need to increase that slightly. Mild ports should idle close to stock (I've made some seriously ported engines idle at 800 smoothly). If you have a lot of overlap (ie. bridge) then you're looking at a higher idle generally around 1000 RPM (with decent tuning).

if you follow the throttle cable into the throttlebody you should be able to see a screw that pushes against part of the linkages.

if you cant find it try manually pulling the throttle cable from inside the engine bay until you can see where it is.... it basically holds the butterflies partially open and this is how the idle speed is adjusted.

well thats how it is on my T2 anyway,
Good luck!

Factory Service Manuals are in the FAQ. The manual describes how to set the idle properly.
