what should i do?!?!
im torn, i want to buy this 7 from this guy , the car is a '91 white, its got 114,000mi on it he says that it was owned all of its life by his sister who is 50+ years old he says that shes never raced it and she changed the fluids regularly and that the car is in perfect working order but i am still alittle skeptical/scared from some of the things i have been reading on this site. ill admit im lazy but i am willing to take the time to take care of it. i also have another car in mind i dont know if any of you have heard of this mabey youve even raced one i dont know its a ford thunderbird supercoupe supercharged about 230 hp stock, oh and the guy is asking about 3400 for the 7 I dont know what to do HELP ME PLEASE!
thanks
thanks
If it's an N/A then 3400 is way to high. I bought my '86 with 122k on the clock for 1600. I probably overpaid, but oh well. Other than that... 7's rock!
Edit: 3400 would be way too high for anything but mint condition. You can get a nice TII for that price.

Yes, N/A means non-turbo or naturally aspirated. 3400 seems quite high, but this for a 91 you claim. That is not bad at all, with 114k on the clock. If that is original miles that is a decent price. It would have to be immaculate condition inside and out.
Take it for a ride and see what you like and don't like about it, and try to talk him down a bit.

Well considering she never raced it and assuming it never got driven hard, that tells me that the secondary fuel injectors didn't get a ton of work. so that there could be a trouble spot. I got my rx-7 (1990 vert with a rebuilt engine) for 3 grand even. and 3 weeks after i had it the engine died on me and i'm in the process of getting a new engine as we speak. i'd suggest you think about it and weigh the pros and cons.
Pros--The 7 is an aweosme handling car, beautiful in every aspect. you can do a lot to it to make it an awesome daily driver and get a lot of attention and you can also make it a great auto cross car. Comfortable seats and the ability to smoke anybody in a good car on a windy road if you ever decide to.
Cons-- High maintence, the cost of this car is higher than you can get a lot of 7's for if you take your time and look. The thunderbird is a respectable car, and with a supercharger they are fun, granted they don't handle as well but you would be worrying a lot less about engine issues if you went for the T-bird.
So really it's up to you what you really want to get. Had i been smarter i would have gone for something other than a 7 at this point because i don't make a lot of money and i tend to break a lot of cars. So i wish ya luck and let us all know what you're gonna do.
Peace,
Matt
