What is this resevoir bottle for?
I'm building a cold air intake that routes through the windshield washer fluid bottle hole. Luckily my model has the washer fluid bottle on the driver's side, so I don't have to deal with that.
However, when I removed my wheel well cover, I found a strange looking bottle in place of where the washer fluid bottle would have been. I'm not sure what it's for or why it's there. It seems to route right to the engine and has an open end at the front of the car (I'm guessing to allow spillage of whatever's coming out).
My question is, do I need this bottle at all? It's getting in the way of my cone filter, and it seems like I could just remove the bottle and let the end connecting to the bottle leave open.
Does this bottle serve any purpose? Can I remove it and not affect any of my car's functions? This is an 89 N/A (GX Canadian model) if that helps.

i think slip_N_slide83 was referring to the liner. if you dont have the airpump, then theres no need for the air pump muffler. i dont see how theres a need for it anyways, just put a filter on it or something.
ahhh, I misread that...thanks for the clarification guys....alright, I'm taking the muffler out....will it be louder without a muffler? (Not that it really matters cause my exhaust is loud enough to drown any of that noise out, but I'm just curious)

The black tube is the air silencer. It silences the air that is dumped from the ACV at certain times. Without it, the airpump can make odd wooshing and honking sounds. Of course, if you don't have your airpump and ACV, you don't need the air silencer.
