Ok what mods do you have? and are do you doing off roading or something? an N/a tranny should hold an N/a just fine unless you have a BP or PP.

N/a trannies are extremely weak. You could upgrade to a TII unit. It should all bolt up, just do a search for the swap. You pretty much need a TII flywheel/clutch assembly and a TII clutch slave cylinder. An automatic driveshaft will mate to the TII output spline and go right on a N/A differential flange. That trannie should hold up to anything an N/A motor could put out. Good Luck.

A couple of things I learn thru the same situation:

1-DO NOT USE A UNSPRUNG CLUTCH ON A NA TRANNY
2-Do not use a 'USED' tranny, unless it's been rebuild professionally not too long ago.
3-I know I will get flame for this, but 'Red Line oil' and all of the above DO NOT MIX well into this equation.

Are you the guy who purchased my Pineapple rebuild tranny?

No, sorry man, but my question was for crazyassrx7. For some weird reason, I get the impression that he was one that purchased my 4 month old pineapple rebuild tranny

well i do have 18 inch konigs on the car with 265/40/18 tires
i have a new engine with a street port, 550 secondary injectors, racing beat headers, full exaust, ram air intake, racing beat clutch

and haha naw i did not buy your tranny KNONFS, if i did and it already blew id be pretty mad right now.

the thing is i dont want to spend $1100 right now, im looking to spend a lot less than that.

i dont do any offrorading or anything but i do some serious driving at times and just normal racing

now i also think im going to need the differential mount

First of all:

Is that RB clucth unsprung?

I had their unsprung clutch and went thru 3 trannies!

Call Rob at Pineapple Racing, It will cost you much less than $1100 for a stock tranny rebuild, and while you are at it, ask him about redline oil on the FC tranny

Trst me, call the guy TODAY!!

You will be amazed at the price!

Unsprung clutch?

Just to offer my input... I use an ACT 6-puck with heavy duty pressure plate with pretty much a stock N/A. Once I got the hang of the almost instant engagement, that setup never gave me any trouble at all. I have had that clutch in there for about 9,500 miles or so and the tranmission still shifts as well as it did before and the clutch still grabs like a champ.

Nothing. I have used it for about 15 years now with excellent results. However, contrary to popular belief, it will not magically regenerate your synchros, lol.

redline

synchros do not seal against anything, they are little metal sprocket looking things when you grind the **** out of one the only way to fix it is to replace it.

So how does Rob do this rebuild? Do I need to ship him my tranny? If I go to his shop will he pull it and do the rebuild?

Tranny Rebuild

It is not hard to rebuild a manual tranny.

http://www.angelfire.com/darkside/de...nsmission.html

That page is geared towards modifying your tranny not rebuilding it, but they are both basically the same thing. If you know how to modify your 5th gear with another tranny than you can do a rebuild, you will just need an extra tool... a 41 mm wrench or a cut off socket welded to a handle.

Well I read that it could help synchros that arent all that they've used to be. As far as I know my car has the same tranny fluid that it did 115k ago.. and it's past due for a change.
