What is this part?????

okay guys,

I Just threw on the new coilovers and went to get an alignment for the first time since owning the car.

On the lift, the REAR wheels(each side) move about 1/16 of an inch when wiggled. Looking under the car we deduced that it was all stemming from the bushing being worn on the CONTROL LINK.

The haynes manual has it labeled as the "CONTROL LINK". I cant find this part anywhere on the web? I think it has something to do with adjusting the toe possibly?

Can anyone help me out?

*ALSO*

Im going to need both FRONT hubs repacked. Anyone ever done this to their car? Sears auto is charging 170$ to fix, so I decided to see if I could figure it out and do it cheaper. A write-up,pics,etc, would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

THANK YOU!

Rob

Download the Suspension section of the online FSM for how to align the suspension.

I don't see the control link being an alignment problem. Its connected to the stabalizer bar. Toe is controlled in the second jpg. Stare at your car in the area of the jpg and you'll see what I mean.

Well, when we got under there and shook the wheel, the control link was the part that was wiggling? In my haynes, the part doesnt look like that, there is no twist in the ends...meaning, both openings for bolts are facing the same way.

It appears that this part connects the control arm to the frame?

not lateral links...

I finally found some places selling them online. I guess the slang for them is "dogbone links"
