what is my 7? need help in order to get parts

hi there, sorry about this short thread, but my 7 in confusing me...

its listed under registration as a 1988 rx7 gxl

but its serial number says FC3S
and Mazda told me in was produced in late 87

would this make my car a s3? or an s4?
Did this car come with heavy duty breaks? because the regular ones arent near as big, and there oval.... not a huge square pad....

thanks guys

FC3S refers to all rx7's produced as 2nd gens (late 85 I would imagine, through 91)
Vin should start 1JMfC3S...I think...
86-88 is the Series 4 (S4)
89-91 is the Series 5 (S5)
SA is the early 1st gen (79-81..again not sure on the exact year)
FB refers to later 1st gens (82-85)
FD is of course the 3rd gen 7

Sounds like you have rear disc brakes. What model is it? SE, GXL? What other options are on the car? Power windows, sunroof, etc? There are ways to tell which model it is. Do you have 4 lug rims or doues it have 5 lugs? Is there a button for you to "adjust" the suspension on the center console?
