What to look for when looking for FC's
Hey guys. I'm new here, and new to the Rotary engines in general. I have always admired the RX 7 since i was old enough (14, so 1994) to admire cars.
I was thinking of getting an RX-8, but $30,000+ for a fun car isn't working out well with my other bills.
So then i started thinking (which can be very dangerous for a car enthusiast) that i could get a used RX-7.
I started pricing 3rd gens (FD?), and realized that there isn't much of a way that i could afford $13k + for a used car.
So i started looking up the second gens (FC?). (via eBay).
So, let's say my price range is under $4500 or so for a second gen car. It's gotta be a turbo / non convertible.
What types of things should i look for when inspecting one?
Are they prone to rust? What should i listen for in the engine bay? How do these engines fair with mileage?
All those sorts of questions...
If this is in the wrong place, let me know.
