whatcha gonna use it for? daily driver? project car?
weekend car? race car?

Look for leaks, smoke on starting or shifting, burnt oil, poor compression, any bent panels (avoid any with front end damage, too much work to straighten the front suspension sub frame), rust (including in the engine like the oil filler tube) milky coolant, abnormal wear on the tires, not working electronics.

I mean you could have a list a mile long, but what you are gonna use it for will determin how much you will want to fix.
