What to look for?
i'll be looking at a local S5 for sale here. the general specs are 76K miles on body 6K on engine. what should i look for? what would cause an n/a motor to go at 70k? and would it repeat itself? i haven't read a buyers guide on this car in about 4 years and couldn't find one in a search. give a brotha some hizzelp.

Sounds like a good car. Basically I always tell people to look for a smooth idle. If it is smooth it usually means they took care of things. Make sure the power delivery is also good but a hiccup at 3700 or so might just be the grounding problem. I don't know of any buyers guides though.
The engine could have blown for a few reasons. They didn't change the oil enough and so it didn't lubricate the housings or maybe they just overreved it. Who knows. I doubt it will rear its head again if you make sure to do the reliability mods.
