What Kind of Paint
What Kind of Paint
aight going to be painting my vert soon. i was wondering what kinda paint i should use the only place i can think of to buy paint about here is ABC which i really dont want to use them bc i dont think they sell good paint i could be wrong but anyway what brand do u guys recommend? and known places i could possibly order online and get shipped or what not thx alot
I'm in the middle of painting my S4 with PPG brand paint. I have never painted a car body before with real paint and I can honestly say read a good book or 2. I have had very little problems and my sunroof (only part that is wet sanded and buffed) looks simply pefect. It takes a lot of time and work but its ALL in the prep work

Just go to a body shop and if your looking for colors they should have color palettes. Also dupont makes paint and its what I used on my car when it was painted.
Most of the paint stores sell more than one grade of paint, kind of a good, better, best thing. Talk to the manager and tell him what you are doing and ask for his recommendations.
That's how I got started with my paint supplier. He even came over to my shop and helped me shoot one of my cars when I was having trouble. I know I must drive him nuts with all of the questions I've asked, but he has been patient and now has a loyal customer. And I only paint about 1 car a year.
If you are not an experienced painter, a local relationship will end up saving you more money in the long run, than buying something cheaper on the internet and not having any support when problems develop.
Most of the major brand paint are all good, if not they wouldn't be in business. My local supplier carries the U-Tech, Lesanol, and Sikkens paint brands, in the good better best order.

Now beofre anyone comments on the cheapo/maaco quality spray ill be getting i just want to say "ITS STUPID TO SPEND MORE ON PAINT THAN THE CARS BOOK VALUE" that is all.
Ill get a 1000+ paint job on my future 3rd gen, the fc gets the $400 deal.

OGM talking about paint. Krok is Photoshopping what my car is gonna look like. Oh its pure sex. I cant wait until I get it sprayed. I have the paint sitting here like right beside me. Its a Nissan/Nismo color used on Skyline GTR 400r. It is so deep its beautiful.
The cans I recieved dont have a paint manufacture on them though. It just says 400r blue. Thats all. Ill try to get a pic of the can when I get my phone turned back on.
