Hey, theres no exhaust system better than the ones that RACINGBEAT sells. Those are the best, the quality, the look, the horsepower, even the sound will leave you speechless

I suppose the HP gain is too high for you also. I suggest you get an Ebay fart can, or better yet, just take you're exhaust system off completely. It'll be shitty and loud, but hey, you'll have lost HP! SWEET!
And, with the quiet comment. Have you ever HEARD a header-back / turbo-back RB exhaust? WOT past 3000(NA) or WOT under boost(T2) the exhaust is pretty much screaming...

Racing Beat is one of the more quiet exhausts. And why are you dissing ebay cans? It's easy, it looks the same as many other N1 style exhausts on the market, it's cheaper, and it works. I rocked the ebay N1 style mufflers with a custom catback for over a year, didn't bother me.
Some people are after more than looks by the way, these people prefer performance. And if you prefer performance, than RB isn't necessarily the way to go. It doesn't flow any better than many other exhausts, and it's HEAVY. A lighter and equally flowing exhaust will perform better. And not cost you as much as the Racing Ripoff, er I mean Beat, exhaust.

Think SDJ or 1Revin7. Even look at Kahren's header. They all make more power then the Racing Beat, and all are of the same quality.
Plus the RB exhaust is a heavy setup, you can have a quiet single or a lighter dual for a fraction of the cost. Just get a big magnaflo (like 7" or 8") on the back where the heat won't eat it up.
Also: The difference between a turboback and a headerback is totally different. A headerback doesn't have a super hair dryer sucking up alot of the noise.

so what would you guys reccomend for the most performance on a n/a set up in cali when i still need the smog chit, with out costing a whole lot - hypocrytical a lil bit - or a lighter more performance mid range expense preferably
I say get an SDJ header and custom fab piping back to a N1 or Borla muffler. That is what I want to do for my '90 GTU. Keep all your old stuff and swap it whenever you need to smog it.

Personally, I like the deep tone of my car (took out cats so I'm looking for an upgrade) and refuse to have it sound like a ricer. I'll sacrifice 5hp for the sake or being able to stand the sound of my car.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
The greddy system FTW although expensive. I have seen the inside of a RB muffler and to me it looks like its very restrictive. Plus its to damn quite. That set-up Ddub had before he parted his car may be what I am gonna rock for a while sounded damn good.
