What the hell is wrong with my ignition system??? (searched)
Ok ive searched all the treads and i cannot find anyone who has had a problem similar to mine. First my ignition switch was going bad. When i turned the ignition it would click and click. If i put jumped it form another car it would turn over, or sometimes it would turn over if i just waited a few minutes. You could never really count on it to start when you wanted it to. I assumed the problem was dirty/raggedy/old ignition. I changed the ignition and Viola! it fixed it! But then i went to crank my car this morning and nothing! I tried jumping it and nothing! No noise or anything. My battery is good and my starter is new. What the hell could it be? Also does anybody know what the little plastic white box that is attached under the ignition does?

Double check your ground on your starter. If you have a loose or shorted wire, starting will be very inconsistent. You may also need to remove the negative terminal and reattach it. I had a problem very similar to this.

Had that same problem for years. Eitheir you can follow the very complicated way of installing an S2000 push button from one of our threads in our forum or you may do it the way I did it. Purchase a starter button preferably an S2000 or you can just buy a regular push button starter from any automotive shop. For S2000 you only use three prongs. 1st goes to your starter solenoid (of course you disconnect the wire on top of it). 2nd prongs goes to your lighter (12Volts source), 3rd goes to ground (steering wheel column- your preference). Disconnect red/black ST wire from your ignition switch and you're ready. Put in your keys move keys forward two slots and push your button. Enjoy.
For regular push button from any automotive store, just plug in your 1st wire to your starter solenoid then the other one to your 12 volts preferebly the lighter. You can improvise it yourself if you're electronically inclined by let's say adding a relay or fuse. So far I have been driving my car for almost 2 years with no apparent problem.

Your MAIN fuse might be blown in the engine bay fuse box.
If your Warning lights do not come on, but your Headlights do work, then look at bolted in Main Fuse. IF that fuse is good, then most likely the single, black wire that goes from the Engine fuse box to the ignition switch is disconnected just below the engine fuse box.

Well, the idea is that when you go to Start, your losing the power to the TWO wire plug of the Main Relay. IF you pull the FOUR wire plug and do the jumper job, then it matters not if the key is put to START. The four wires are already jumpered and supplying power to the vital items and CANNOT be disrupted by anything else at all.
The Main Relay may have checked out but have you ever checked the power to the main relay coil, to see if the power is lost when the key is put to Start?
The two wires in the two wire plug are Black/White and pure Black. Black/White comes from the Engine fuse. The Black/White is the one that would lose power when you go to Start. Lose that power and the Main Relay relaxes and the internal contacts don't *make* anymore.
