What the hell is this noise?!?!
What the hell is this noise?!?!
my engine has about 40k miles on it, and hasnt had this problem for long, it had been sitting for around 4 or 5 months without and attention, and some mice got to the engine bay... and since i've been working on it (havent done anything to engine yet), i started it yesterday and let it run for a while, when i reved it a little and let the rpm's drop it makes this loud sorta high pitched 'chhssshhhhhhhhhhh' sound, sounds like a muffled blow off valve... it's a steady sound till about 1500 rpm then it studders a bit and stops... if anyone knows what this might be, please let me know..
Thanks,
Alan
Thanks,
Alan
what studders a bit, your engine or the sound? BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC!
Sounds like the mice ate through some vac lines buddy, rodents like polyeurothane you know. Some fucked up reason, they love the taste
My guinea pig has like eaten up all my remote controlls, some of the buttons are so chewed off I gotta dig my nail into it to press it
anyways, get back to us.

the sound studders..... also forgot to mention that it's now having problems idling without the rpm bouncing, so i guess this would be a vac leak? maybe? but is there any way to pin point which line/lines it might be?
