What the hell is all this electrical crap around my pass. front speaker?

What the hell is all this electrical crap around my pass. front speaker?
Im almost done guttin my interior and am wondering about this chipboard enclosed with the passenger front speaker. Trash it? Or do I need this crap?

I believe your refering to the amp. The rear speakers had a similar design. There is an amp built in with the 4 inch on the turbo models. If you don't have stock audio remove it.
