but wtf? how do they propose this works? you cant just plug something up and expect the air fuel to change without the module knowing whats done to the car

It's a resistor you put on your IAT to trick the ECU into leaning the fuel mixture. If it works at all, you won't see 22hp.

not to mention... who in their right mind would WANT to lean out an rx7???? You are just asking for a thrown apex seal...lol

I just read it though, it changes the signal and the ecu then advances timing and "in some cases also the fuel mixture".

Why not lean out an rx7?
Thats why we buy S-afc, to gain the missing hp from running too rich on top end.

Leaning out an NA is the easiest way to 10+ HP. They run pig rich stock.
