What have I got?

I own a 1988 Mazda RX7 convertable JM1FC3514J0103704. It was purchased with 10 miles on the OD by my father, new in 1988. Body style would be CV. It is red with a grey interior and black auto. conv. top. Dual exhaust, 13B, 5spd. Cassette stereo, factory "mudflaps", and cloth seats. What would be the proper way to describe this vehicle? I see GSL, GTU, etc,...used at lib. The only reason I bother with this inquery is the fact that this car has only 40,600 miles on it, is completely origonal and it looks new!! Todd.

Those trim models are for the coupe models.
Since yours is a convertible that's what it's called.

You can check out the options and other stuff here

An '88 vert, as simple as that. The GTU/Sport/SE/GTUs/GXL are for Coupe's, the verts were all pretty much just called the vert.

Thanks all! Sorry to seem so stupid,...I restore musclecars and collect all sorts of "cool" cars. I do my own work,...and research, so I feel humbled by having to ask! Thanks for the link! If I can help anyone I'd sure love to help! I do mechanics, bodywork, paint, electronics, and proper jerry-rigging! Todd.

88 verts only came as either a convertible or a convertible with P package.

If you have cloth seats, you have just a basic vert and not a convertible with the P package.

I would, as Im sure a lot of these other guys, love to see some pics of that car. From what it sounds like, it seems to be in mint condition.

Can you post some pics of her?
