what has 22-pounds?
At the local ricer meet I over head somsone bragging about this eclipse that is running 22-pounds(im assuming boost). I was like humm that sounds pretty impressive... then he said "ya man, he is running 14s" I started to laugh really hard. What else could he be running 22-pounds of and make him that slow and if a 13b was running 22lbs of the same what would it do?

boost is relative, and is mostly affected by the static compression of the engine. IF it's low to start with, then he needs to make more boost to make up for the amount of air flow. Also turbo design and efficiency have a lot to do with it. Never be impressed when someone just gives you a boost number. It's really the TQ that you should be most concerned with.

what year was it... the F&F ricer kind or the hard-core tuner 1G that never gets any recognition... like my 91 AWD TSi??
anyhow, if hes got a stock turbo running that much, itll make him SLOWER than stock, no stock DSM turbo can push any useable air that high of boost. the stock 1G has peak airflow @ 20 psi, but that takes race gas. i run 13's on 14 psi, and can run 12's on 20 psi w/ a 33% mix of Xylene. but a T25 from a 2G eclipse... good god, those things really are hairdryers... after 13 psi... nothin but hot air... even 13 psi is still pretty warm.
the only turbos that are able to run 22 psi like that are FP Green/Red, L2R's, 50trims and up...
btw, after our DSM runs a solid 12 second run... not a 12.99... we will upgrade to a 50trim Garrett/Mitsubishi hybrid
