what happens after removing the differential

So I have a spare S4 w/o an engine and not sure what I want to do with it (make it a project car, strip and sell or junk it) so for the time being it's just sitting there.

This brings me to 2 questions:
A local guy needs a differential since and offered me $200 (is that the going price for a LSD out of a GXL?)
and my main question is, if it is removed do I still have a rolling chassis or does the diff. come out with the rear wheels and it'll be sitting with the rear end on the ground?

thanks.

From: Smiths Falls.(near Ottawa!.Mapquest IT!)
you should be able to drop the differential and roll the chassis,no problem. The hubs and the subframe should support the wheels and take the weight.
Grab the 200 and Run!..
Make sure when you pull the diff, that you take the Axles out so they don't Hit the inside of the car when rolling the chassis around.(you need a 32mm socket for that I believe).
