What else could i do?

Ok..... I have an 86 GXL. Im putting a S4 13b-t into it. I have the engine and things that are essential for the conversion. but I have some upgrades too, 6puck clutch, 3" exhaust, boost controller,FMIC, 720cc secondaries, Apexi SAFC, ligthned flywheel, i took off all emmisions.

My question To you guys is. What else do i need? i have friends with 12 second nissans but they are pushing 20 PSI. Will my car keep up with them even though i can only run 12psi at the most? and if i wanted to run more psi, i kno i need 3mm seals but is that it? or is there anything else i can get to run more boost without replacing the seals?

If you can answer any of these questions for me i would appreciate it. but please dont tell me to search, or that this question has been asked a million time and im a dick head. cuz i did search and every thread i found was some guy asking a question and then 15 people tellin him to search it. i mean its hard to search for something and find the answer if everybody answers with "just search for it lazy ***"

Port your waste gate.

3mm seals fail at life its been covered. To run more boost than 12psi you will need a different turbo, and a lot more fule, and a better setup than a piggyback computer.

And no it wont keep up with 12sec Nissans with the mods you have listed.

Port the engine, and upgraded the stock turbo as it only runs at a maximum of 10psi. Do the supporting fuel, ecu, and cooling mods, as well as an fmic.

Question

I just talked to a place that does porting. and they are gonna street port the engine for me. and i found a garett t04 turbo on ebay with a 40mm external wastegate, how would that do? so the Apexi wont be good enough? i need a haltech or some kind of standalone fuel management to run more than 12 psi?

You don't need a stand alone to run more than 12psi. You need to set a goal as to what kind of power your looking for. Once this is established you need to look into whether or not an upgraded stock ecu such as Rtek1.7 or a standalone is needed.

Take a look at www.BNRturbos.com and look at their Rx7 upgraded turbos and read up on the hp results. This will give you a better idea of what your up against. Again there are so many different avenues you can take which simply means research everything.
