Is it for real in the terms of existing in reality (not the HP "claims")?
Yes.

Is it worth the money?
No. It's a <$1 part from RadioShack.

Is it worth installing?
No.

advance the timing i.e. initiate the flame front sooner and get power started earlier in the cycle. you will see a bit of performance from timing advance but nothing in the neighborhood of 20. if you see numbers like that "sucka" needs to go off in your head unless its a turbo kit etc.

on this note, since i'm used to distributors, can you just rotate the cas like a distributor and advance the timing? is there any way to control the trailing seperately? i know 1g cars you'd normally set it around 20-22* and around 10* trailing.
