i need help to make sure i have a coolant seal leak i took the engine apart and wanted to know if theres any way to tell where the leak was or what a bad seal looks like

 

Most of the time it is actually a coolant seal retaining wall failure, which would look like this:

well i looked at the engine i couldnt find a spot that that a seal slipped at but i found a spot where i think i had a leak there was a bunch of off white gunk looks like fuel/oil and antifreeze biuld up. could that be the spot of the leak?

 

post some pics of it we can tell you easily

 

will do... grr and as luck would have it. i dont have any batterys to take pics with.. so i guess ill post some after i get back from my fishing trip

 

after doing some reading i think what happend.... the engine overheated then the seals melted and or the housing warped. sorry still no pics but ill post them asap
