what does a bad coolant seal look like

i need help to make sure i have a coolant seal leak i took the engine apart and wanted to know if theres any way to tell where the leak was or what a bad seal looks like

Most of the time it is actually a coolant seal retaining wall failure, which would look like this:

well i looked at the engine i couldnt find a spot that that a seal slipped at but i found a spot where i think i had a leak there was a bunch of off white gunk looks like fuel/oil and antifreeze biuld up. could that be the spot of the leak?

after doing some reading i think what happend.... the engine overheated then the seals melted and or the housing warped. sorry still no pics but ill post them asap
