hi, just thinking about any easy way to tell whether the engine is flooded or low in compression, assuming that you don't have compression test gauge. in both case, engine won't start.
also, would the ATF trick works on both case or just for flooded engine? or sometimes, the engine loses so much compression that it is even worth to try ATF?

ATF does not repair broken apex seals or gouged rotor housings.
Basically, it can help with a flooded engine, but for an engine with low-compression, I consider it more of a snake oil.

From what I understand it can be flooded and that then sometimes causes the low compession.
You can usually tell low compression by the whirling sound of the engine...There is low compression, so not a lot of resistance so the engine sounds like a sewing machine. You can have a flooding conditon, yet still have compression. Depends on condition.
Usually the ATF is used to bring up the compression when needed.
Might want to do a seach as many use the ATF for cleaning, etc., and some totally disagree with it's usefulness and recommend other products.
