What do you guys think I should do?
ive been sorta lurking around here a bit not posting very often. I recently purchased a 87 NA that needs a LOT of work. I was wondering what route you guys think I should take the car in.
So far the car needs mufflers, paint and rust removal, suspension and timing (I think, it back fires slightly when decelerating) and brakes.
I have the rear on the car pretty much gutted because i wanted to know if there were any spots of rust on the inside and it sits in the sun with no tint and the interior parts are already brittle/faded , plus it needs paint so i figure i needed to have that stuff ripped out for that anyway.
My question is that do you guys think I should just save up and do everything at once or should I do it little by little? and if not all at once what should I do first then what in what order?
Thanx

Here's my fantasy sequence for the ultimate rebuild of Mr. Silver in sig below. It could take years to complete:
Structural Ridigity/Suspension: seam weld frame, upgrade all suspension, add struts, engine and diff braces.
Brakes: upgrade.
After I know it will handle and stop, I will focus on the engine and performance.
When I have it running, handling, and stopping right, I get the paint job.
The more you lurk around and search the Forum, the more you'll start to get a sense of what to do. This site is a huge asset and very entertaining. Take your time getting into it.
The guys who do the best posts of their projects write clearly and provide excellent pictures. Jimlab is an excellent example of that. Read his V8 Monstrosity post.
ReTed is deep into the 2 Gens. There are many others.
Did you buy a Factory Service Manual (FSM) for the car? If not, get one and read it through and through, over and over. This will help you focus your Forum inquiries related to your project as it evolves.
The nice thing is that your car is relatively cheap to mod.
Good luck!

Pull the motor and put it in a car that's more structurally sound than the FC. Like a little 510 datsun
Seriously, no matter how many things you fix on that car... something new will always break.
Good news is that you have a complete running rotary to stuff in something decent.
