what do you guys think about this

I have a 88 GXL and I jsut bought a wrecked 88 GTU
from my friend, I am going to take the Engine, tranny,
well the complete drivetrain, and suspension from that
car cause it has 60,000 original miles, and I am also adding the exterior pieces, and some interior pieces.
Would it be to ricerish is I bought GTX decals and put
them on, cause basically a cross breed between a
GLX and GTU so I thought I would call it my GTX
what do you think. lates Matt22

Get both and make it a "GXU". The rarest of the rare! (Don't forget to make up a good story that confuses EVERYONE!!

first a gtx is a turbo II so don't call it that

2nd I don't think I'd want a 60 mile engine in my car... probably won't last too long. depends how long it was sitting though. better to get one that was driven..

First I thought the GTX was basically the Japanese GTU
second the Engine is really strong out of that car. From what I have heard, a older couple 40+ were the first owners and then my friend bought it from then sold it
to the guy who wrecked it.

Of course it wouldn't last long in your case, because you have a T2! 60,000 miles is real low for an NA, whether it's been sitting or not.

Matt, all FCs were Turbo in Japan. I thought you knew that.

87-88 RX-7 TII are GT-R
89-91 RX-7 TII are GT-X

We used to call them that because of Japanese badging before the S4 and S5 names started up.

Have I seen that car? What color, etc?

Hey Jeff,
You might have seen the car before, but I don't think it was on the road very long before it was wrecked. The car is black with a grey interior and has GXL wheels.

Eli bought the car from the original owners (I think) and then sold it to his friend. His friend then wrecked the car and Eli either bought it back or it was given back to him. Matt then bought the whole car from Eli for $400, including an engine and transmission with just 60,000 miles. That is one hell of a deal!

My advice would be to run no decal at all. It gives the car a much cleaner look.
