be VERY careful of an overheated engine. If the water seals are gone, that motor is SHOT.

Here is a quick check. Fill the filler neck (radiator) up with water. Remove the EGI fuse underhood. Crank the car. If you see a LOT of water come rocketing out of the filler neck (you leave the cap off). You have a blown water seal. That = rebuild.

wow! Talk about EXACT same situation I bought my car in. If it is the same as my situation check the gas tank! No joke! Mine was on Empty, no gas at all pretty much. Put some ATF in cause it had not be run for long, new plugs, $8 of gas, it started and they had not gotten it to run in like 3 months. Turns out it does have low compression as well, but I got a good 3 months driving out of it till now, saving for new engine now. But yeah, check the gas and do what J-Rat said about checking rad. Not really sure what else though.....either way for that price you can always throw in a new engine and it will still be a decent deal if car is in good condition elsewhere.

PS. To show how alike our situations are, mine is also a S5 NA with a wing on the back, BLACK, good interior condition in black.

Its in the fuse block in the engine bay.. easy to find. Fuse block, right hand side, by the shock tower.
