ok i dunno how many of you if any of you know what my car looks like. i posted a link to some pics a while back and i believe i have a link to my yahoo pics thing at the bottom of my posts. but anyways, my car looks like ****. its red and white and where white is peeling off theres old primer and rust. so i kinda want to get the car to look a little better or at least one solid color. problem is im poor. so im thinking of getting a bunch of cans of flat black paint and spraying the whole car with that. ive seen it done before and i dont think it looks half bad, and its a cheap way to get the car to be one color. what do you think? am i an idiot thats too into ghetto rigging stuff or is this not so bad of an idea?

as long as it looks alright it's fine. My friend had to get a new fender and he just painted it with cheap general paint. It is almost the same color as the rest of the car (white) and you don't even notice if you don't look closely.

well i plan on doing it as right as i can for being a krylon paint job. i got an 89+ bumper and a set of the tails for the car so ill paint it with those off. plus ill pull the mirrors and stuff off too. the rest ill just tape off. sport compact car did it to their project silvia and i read how they did it. their car looked good so i guess mine wont look too bad. its not a permanent thing, its just something to hold me off till i get the $$ to actualy paint the car. im just tired of it being different colors. one of my friends actualy calls it baskin robins. cuz its so many different colors

SCC did that to their project S13. In a later issue they tell you exactly how they got the car to look that way for a rattle can paint job. I don't remember exact details but it's random directions and light quick coats do a small area at a time and multiple coats. The random direction is so you don't get the usual rattle can look.
