what could i have broken??

yesterday it was raining and i was going down hill. somebody cut me off and i had to slam on my brakes to keep from getting side swiped. my back end broke loose and i fishtailed my rear drivers side tire into a curb pretty hard. now my steering wheel sits at a 45 degree angle now and my car pulls to the right. my steering wheel always was titlted but now it is a lot worse. what do you guys think i should check first. my rim is really scratched up. thanks. sorry if this is hard to read i am at work and typing fast.

You should just take a look. Is the tire tilted in anyway? Any of the trailing arms or control arms bent. I don't understand why your steering would be off from a rear impact.

It's possible that you hit the curb with such an impact that the damage done to the rear suspension is causing it to tract in a different pattern, so you must turn your wheel further to keep the car straight. Hopefully it's nat that bad, and just your imagination.

if it is bad my insurance wil cover it under my uninsured motorist plan for a 250 deductible. the wheel automatically sits like that when the front wheels are pointed straight.

Get an alignment that will tell you what is bent!

Maybe it's the alignment. My brother understeered and a good friend oversteered into the curb within the same week. Both need new alignments. Then again, they're ff so maybe it won't pertain to you?
