Things are going to break on a TII just like they will on any other 10-15 year old car. But I think they are possibly the best value you are going to find in a sports car. Very few cars if any will touch the kind of performance (acceleration and braking and handling) you can get from a TII for even twice the price.

They're fun to drive, reasonably practical, and they go like stink. And you can pick a nice one up for just a few grand. Maintaned well, they make a good, reliable daily driver as well as a fun weekend car.

The previous owner of my car had no mechanical failures at all (besides the silly power window switches) occur during the 10 years/50,000 miles he owned the car. None. Not too shabby at all.

Of course I blew the engine at 96k, but that was a result of my own stupidity

(I did not replace the plugs when I should have, one fell apart and sent shrapnel all through my rear rotor. DOH!)
