What can I do about my GTU?? to get more...

I have an 88 GTU. I love this car.
My first one.
What can I do to get a little more horses out if her? Some new cars today you can chip them and install an K -n- N air filter system to get some more pony's but this is a whole new thing for me. IT'S A ROTORY!!!
What can I do $2000.00 for this car its straight and clean and everything works and has the 5 bolt with the hard suspention.
did I get a good deal?
Thanks everybody!

Do a search on "how to make a beefy na", aside from that I'll tip you off to a few quick things.

It's "rotary" not rotory

An intake kit can help, but do the exhaust at the same time, rotaries benefit greatly from higher flow exhausts (lose you smog equip. if possible). They're very loud (especially normally aspirated) though so make sure you consider this when choosing a set up.

Tune the car to factory specs. new plugs and wires if needed, check the TPS etc. 02 sensor... Do all the fluids at the same time so you have a starting point for all of them that you are aware of (trans, diff, coolant, brake, oil etc.)

Remove weight if you want, every little bit helps the power to weight ratio. There's lots to do, it just depends on how far you want to go.

2000 seems like an okay deal if the kms aren't too high and it's in reasonable shape
