What is this? came with clutch kit

i got a exedy stock replacment clutch kit... it had the pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing, pilot bearign and alignment tool... plus it has this (pictured below) which i'm not sure what it is or where it goes... this is my first clutch job on any car so it's all new to me.. i dropped my tranny tonight and i didn't see anything like this come out maybe i should look harder? my best guess is that maybe its a pilot bearing for another car?

its about 1-3/8" in diameter

any input would be great... tomorrow i get to have fun getting the pilot bearing out...

I have no idea, but it looks like a throwout bearing. I know you said you already had one, so I really am not sure what that is. As long as you have the clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, you can replace a clutch.

Sorry.

Have fun with that pilot bearing

Ha, it does look like a pilot bearing for a different car. I think I remember my buddy saying something about his Mazda B2200 truck having a pilot bearing that looks like that. Kind of weird you would get it with a RX-7 kit.

I once tried to buy a pilot bearing for my 86 GXL at a local parts store. That looks like the part they tried to sell me for ~$9. I just went to mazda dealer and got the real thing for ~$3.
