What brand of oil do you use in your FC?

Hey, I'm wondering what oil you guys use -- now I know that there was a thread about the weight of oil, but which type? I was thinking of going with the 10w-30 Mobil 1 for my n/a...

Rxmfn7 07-14-03 06:10 PM

Mobil 1 is synthetic, my personal opinion is to stay away from synthetic for rotaries. Many will argue this, and many use it with good success, but thats just my opinion. I personally use Castrol GTX 20w-50.

Also, there have been many threads on this subject, you might want to read through them..

SonicRaT 07-14-03 06:28 PM

Following the trend here, GTX 20w50

rxseven 07-14-03 06:32 PM

You can use Mobil 1 not a problem. I use Mobil 20-50 non-synthetic in the summer and 10-30 in the winter.

JerryLH3 07-14-03 06:33 PM

Big surprise here, I use Castrol GTX 20W-50, and have ever since I owned the car.

fc3s_gtr 07-14-03 07:08 PM

i use valvoline racing formula 20w-50. i'm pretty sure it's not synthetic.

Icemark 07-14-03 07:20 PM

Castrol GTX 20W50 most of the year, and Castrol GTX 10W30 in the dead of winter

poor college student 07-14-03 07:24 PM

eViLRotor 07-14-03 09:34 PM

Mobil 1 15W50 :)

Boost Lee 07-14-03 09:49 PM

castrol gtx 20w-50.... hmmm

88ROTARY 07-14-03 09:49 PM

vavoline 10w30 is what i use but i'm thinking about going to the racing formula for better protection in my higher miler, vavoline is a liquid base oil not like castrol which is powder base and will cake up when it is extremely over heated dont get caught in the trend

Madrx7racer 07-14-03 10:08 PM

like IceMark 20w-50 the entire year except for winter when I use 10w-30, and like the rest it is GTX

Castrol GTX 20W50

;)

Terrh 07-15-03 12:23 AM

WOOT go pennzoil

and for that exact reason, I can't find non-synthetic 20w50 ANYWHERE aside from pennzoil.

It's nice and cheap too.. if only I could get it in 4l instead of just 1l

on that note, is 15w40 thick enough? Because I can get rotella 15w40 in nice BIG containers that work out to being way less than pennzoil costs me.

And rotella is quality stuff...
