What is the box on the right of ECU?

What is the box on the right of ECU?

The one with the label "N351" below. The sockets below it were disconnnected initially, and I am not sure what the unit is for.

i believe that's the transmission controller, was your car an auto at once?

Now it all make sense! My S5 must have gone through a manual swap in the hands of one of the previous owners. I was already wondering some time ago why was there an electrical fan in front of the radiator.

The controller is completely useless for an manual I suppose. Should there be something in place of the transmission control?

Nope, just unplug it. You can generally tell by looking at your tranny mount (it'll usually be ghetto rigged...) if it was an auto before.

the gauge cluster might also say "HOLD" on it i believe... i think it would be on the tach

the electric fan in front of the radiator is for the AC condenser.

I know that, but I believe manual S5 did not come with one by default.
