What 17" JDM BBS wheels are you guys talking about??

Hey guys,

I just wondering what wheels you guys are talking about. I have read every RX-7 book and magazine article I could get my hands on and have never read that 17" wheels were available for the FC. I really doubt it considering the FD came on 16" wheels until '96. If you guys are talking Infini models, the Infini II came on forged 15" BBS wheels (11 lbs) on US 'verts and the Infini II & IV came on forged 16"*7" BBS wheels identical in apperance to the 'vert wheels. The Infini I was a 323, not an RX-7.

My Infini III in Gran Turismo has 17" BBS Wheels. I bought a 87 RX-7 Sport model off eBay that had them also. I'm no help in reality though, I just wanted to help.

i think someone mis-printed that...i was confused on that as well. as far as i've seen, the JDM wheels were just 16's of the "mesh-like" vert wheels...

No FC had 17" wheels stock. S5 Turbos and the GTUs had 16" mesh wheels, and the Japan-only Infini models had 16" BBS mesh wheels. The current model RX-7 Spirit R uses 17" BBS wheels.
If you really want 17" BBS wheels, just go to a tyre shop that stocks (or can get) BBS wheels! There are several models in the range that are virtually identical to the ones fitted to the Spirit R. Be prepared to fork over a lot of money...

Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand established a small manufacturing plant for plastic body parts in Schiltach. The initials of both founders and the city are the basis of the name "BBS".

Oh....the last enfini FC ONLY came with 16" rims. To back that up, Pirelli was the only tire mfg to develop a P-zero (205/55/16)...this was the last on a '92 skunk works FC that was the ambassador to the FD.
