wet ECU

I was just wonder if I shoudl worry about my ECu if it got a little wet. I had rain water manage to get into my car (I think through the water track in the dash) and it collected on the floor under the drivers seat..I noticed some dampness above the shield over the ECU..so I was wondering if I should be worried about it..I havent started the car up or anythign since..im int he middle of a swap and whatnot

the ECU should be sealed. and you should be fine if you let it dry before you run current through it.

Yeah, pretty much. Even if it did get wet, just make sure its dried out and itll be fine. As long as there is no power connected to it, electronics can get wet. A friend had a computer at his shop that I can only describe as have emphazyma (sp). The owner smoked by the computer and it was totally clogged with tar, so my friend took it to a car wash and hosed it down, after he disconnected all power of course. He let it dry for several days and it was as good as new.
Caution: do not try at home!

its normal for computer parts to be cleaned with water, just have to make sure it drys before power is connected in any way.
