went looking for a station wagom

I was looking for a station wagon or a car with distinct character about 2.5 yrs. ago. Found a '87 RX7 2t with 70k miles. Bought it.
First year, new clutch, plate, mufflers, battery, starter, tires, belts, wires, plugs.... All stock, when it gets hot I have to hang on. Passengers usually turn white. I've had some crazy cars but this one is really different. At first it was hard to drive... steering, shifting, view, etc... I've thought about selling but I am afraid I would miss the ride. Also have a 98 Maxima but it is boring by comparison. If you're going to buy a rex be prepared to invest but also expect a return like no other, I am hooked.

Tedpa,

I'm guessing station wagon = hatchback

Your right the Turbo II model is a supercar and handles, performs, and feels like no other. I've always said the TII runs a premium over the non-turbo rx-7s, but the return (SEAT OF YOUR PANTS RIDE) is well worth it.

One of the best/cheapest supercars you can get.

Sounds like normal maintenance and wear to me. The starter motor is unique, but the plug wires, plugs, battery, muffler, etc.. are all standard items that need replacing from time to time.

Your right, you'll miss not having a supercar. Of course the rx-8 will soon be available too
