Went Autocrossing again.
Man it is so much fun to get the car going fast like it was made for. Makes regualr driving seem dull, but hten again this is as it should be. Racing on the track, not on the street. I ran a decent time of 66.2. The best time was 57 seconds. I am in the prepared class so I run against cars with suspension and tires and rims. I was 5 of 6 in the class. The next time about me was about two seconds faster and that was a V-Tech Civic with adjustable suspension. I think that with better tires I could do pretty good. THinking about getting some Khumo's or Hoosier slicks. Then I'd be pimpin it for sure.

Must be those rotors that put you in prepared. But it doesn't matter because you can have a lot of fun comparing yourself against the competition. Just divide your time by the winning time and see how much progress you make during the year. Last year I went from .88 at the beginning of the season to .94 in the last event compared to the winning time. I was very pleased because I improved a lot along the way.

When you make the jump to a second set of wheels and tires, stick with 15's. Run a 15x7 wheel with 225/50-15 tires. The smaller diameter will give you a slightly lower center of gravity and shorter gearing. Also, 15 inch wheels and tires are less $$$ than 16's or 17's.
I autocrossed my 'vert for 5 years and it was a really fun car. Too bad it's got that 350lb handicap.
