weld in bung question????

so im going to be using the aem uego wide band and wasnt sure if i should drill out the old o2 sensor bung and retap it? or cut it out and weld it in? or just cap it and put the bung somewhere else? and it is on rb headers.

and im running the safc2, so i should be able to just run the output from the uego to the input wire on the safc correct...?

i was looking for the information on whether or not the safcs input would accept the 0-8v output from the uego, i may not have been looking hard enough tho.

i could be wrong but the safc2 doesnt mess with the o2 sensor readings

im pretty sure it just messes with the maf signal so ull probably have have to tap a new whole for the new bung

i got one of the uego wideband i havnt installed it yet let me know how it goes

Usually on these cars the exhaust temperature is a bit higher than normal so you are going to want the wideband as far down as you can get it precat so that you won't have to be buying expensive widebands left and right.

So the best thing to do is just cap the current hole and drill a hole and weld the bung in downstream.

First of all, the stock O2 sensor hole fits the wideband sensor. Oxygen sensors are all M18 x 1.5 with only a few exceptions.

Second, I don't believe the S-AFC has anything to do with the O2 sensor.

Third, to get reasonable life from the wideband sensor, it should be several feet from the exhaust ports. Where the runners merge on the header is a good spot.

Fourth, you still need the narrow band for the stock ECU. The UEGO has a narrow band output but I have not heard of anyone having success with it on the stock ECU.

yeah after I posted that I realized that it is the air flow not o2 on the safc
and my main question was do I have to keep the stop o2 sensor and that was answered.
Sometimes you just have to type out the question and then you realize its stupid and you know the answer already...
