Weird sound when clutch is engaged

when I have my clutch engaged, it sort of makes a whoosh sound or something, it's hard to describe, but everything (so far) seems to be running like normal..as soon as the clutch is disengaged it stops...any idea what it could be?

yea its your throwout bearing. get a new one, and put it in.

while your at it, change your clutch disc, and get your flywheel resurfaced. might as well while you have that tranny out.

release bearings are easily changed by yourself, but getting your car high enough to clear the tranny, + taking out the exhaust, driveshaft, can take u some time.....

but its the best experience i've had since yet

how much do you figure it'd cost to replace the bearing and labor? the clutch plate is only about 7000-10000kms old...

is it safe to drive for a week or two before i get it replaced?

^ Terminology. Clutch engaged = foot off the clutch pedal.
Clutch disengaged = clutch pedal to the floor. You want to be careful how you express things, or you could wind up with advice to fix something that isn't broken. Luckily, the guys understood what you meant. (If in fact that IS what you meant...)
