car is a s4 if that matters

Ok so I'm getting a constant beep and my ps isn't working at times and goes back to normal after I turn the key off and on. this use to happen about once a week but after turning it off and on it would stop, and not happen for another week. but today it started doing it about every 3 miles or so. the steering is also heavy at any speed and very unresponseve before the beeps start. I've wanted to remove PS anyways, but don't have the tools to properly depower the rack ie. no tig welder, I do have access to a mig flux cored wire, and a stick welder. so is this an easy fix for cheap. there is PS fluid so thats not the issue. I'm also broke till friday, and probably can't afford car parts then eaither, and need my car running.

Take the rack to a machine shop and have them tig the holes if you want to do it properly. Otherwise fix your pump and check the sensor on it.

yeah I don't have cash for eather at the moment looks like I'll be looping it for a week or so untill I can round up some cash. I also can't have my car down for more than a day or so.
