Weird problem I think it's the clutch

Well I was driving home today, and my car is acting really weird now, it wont' get going in any gear untill after I hit like 5k rpm, it revs up like it's in neutral until I hit a high rpm then starts pulling like normal(a normal 2k @ around 6k).

what all do I need to replace it(links would help ) and how much am I looking forward to paying?

Typical clutch job is about $500, which includes a stock type clutch...

Maybe it's your synchros.
Cars didn't have them before, but you had to reach the good rpm to make a good shift.
The same way, you can shift without touching the clutch with today's cars if you do it correctly (that's probably why you can only shift around 5k rpm).

from what i read, its already in gear, and it doesnt move until he gets it to 5k. It sounds like a really slipping clutch to me.
