weird idle
Ok i have tested the bvc or bcv or whatever and its fine...i adjusted the tps but nothing happens...except the car wants to die..so i adjust it back...what the car does is idle at 2k for awhile...then 1.5k...then 1k....then i turn off then on and it will go back to 2k...for awhile it was just staying at 2k...could this be my cold start?

Yes. The car HAS to be fully warmed up prior to starting to set the tps. On my car I can set it fully warmed up, and check the voltage output of the tps after setting it. Its one volt. Now if I go out to the car in the morning with everything cold, and put a meter on the output wire(without touching the throttle pedal), the voltage will be something like 1.7 volts. If I start the car and watch the meter, the voltage will fall down to the original 1 volt as the car heats up. Always fully heat the car up prior to setting the tps. My personal opinion is that you should leave all the connectors, connected, heat the car up, shove your positive lead into the back of the tps plug where there is a green wire with a red stripe, put the negative lead on a good ground, and the meter should read 1 volt. If it does not, turn the screw on the tps until you get one volt on the meter. Done. Or you can set it to .95 that some say is the proper setting. Either way works and make sure the car is fully HOT. Once you have set the tps as stated above, and the idle still sucks, you need to follow the factory manuals procedure for setting the idle. Free manual at www.fc3.org or www.iluvmyrx7.com
