Doubt it. I would check the TPS. Does it backfire often? Hesitates? How's the gas mileage?

I think your best bet is to adjust the TPS. Have you tried spraying starter fluid around to see if the idle surges checking for a vac leak?

TPS for a random idle problem? I dunno about that.

If my car liked to idle randomly at 700 or 1500, or any point between, I would be looking at a stuck/binding throttle linkage or cable.

Or better yet, a bad BAC valve. Could be number of things, but starter fluid, hunting for vac leaks is a good start. Also check the BAC valve.

this kinda like mine to. it will idel from 700 up to 1200 and back down and back up and back down. my VW does the same thing too when its cold and some times even when normal temp., and both cars run really rich, so im wondering if it is an A/F prob., when i put the header and full exhaust on my DUB it wouldnt stay running till i turned the fuel up on the air box. i was thinking it was a vac. leak too.

its vac leaks trust me, or a vac hose not connected, mine wouldnt idle at all and would die, so 2 days ago i ripped the hole UIM off and replace *8* Feet of vac hose, now it will idle fine when its cold at 1500 even, when its warmed up it still jumps up and down a little, but wont die, and is doing alot better, best bet is to remove the uim and check ur vac lines from there, they are a ton of them you can see from the top side...
i am also gonna check my tps and see if that the other half of my problem, or its something else, but replacing vac hoses made a HUGE diffrence
my 2 cents...
