Weird clutch hydraulics problem...

I was just driving my car, and as I pulled into a parking lot, it felt like the clutch completely went out, and the car died.

I replaced the master, and rebuilt the slave cylinders about a year and a half ago. When I put the clutch in again to start the car, it felt like there was no pressure, except for a little, when the pedal was almost to the floor. I started the car, and as long as the clutch was in, it was making a moderately loud squeaking/screeching noise. Sounded a bit like a squeaky belt, but was not a squeaky belt.

I looked at the fluid in the master cylinder, and it was pretty damn dirty. Like a light brown. I don't remember it ever being that color before.

The car is drivable, kind of. I drove it home, but it was really hard to get used to, and screeched a lot obviously. I played around with it when I got home, and saw that when I'm pushing the clutch in slowly, it shakes pretty badly.

So, someone PLEASE tell me this is just a simple hydraulics problem, and not that I threw a bearing or something. <3

When I say "it shakes pretty badly," I mean the clutch pedal itself. Not the entire car.

Any ideas?

Hmm... the dirty fluid suggests that it isn't a bearing... rather the slave going... you say you rebuilt it, but it sounds like it's going out again. I had a similar problem as well... definitely the slave cylinder though for me.

That's what I wanted to hear. Thank you, yo. Now I have to get to that pain in my *** again. With a completely stock engine bay, that ****'s hard to get to.

While I trust, and like your answer, does anyone have any other ideas, or a +1 on this?

Oh, btw, the shaking kinda sounds like a bearing. Especially if you hear a sort of "whirring noise" while the clutch isn't depressed, but then it goes away when you push it in. If that happens... then it's probably the throw out bearing...

Anyone else think it's a bearing?

Anyone else for the slave cylinder?

Come on slave!
