Weighed my TII today..

I found a stone/sand place today that weighed my car for me, and it came out to 2620 w/o me in it. Does that sound reasonable for an 87 TII with no emissions, cruise, no PS, no AC, no spare or tools, 3" single turboback, and S5 rims?

That's nice and light!! My 86 GXL with 2 subs was 2800 lbs. I think the Turbo and GXL weigh basically the same.

I used the Digital scale we use for our trucks to be DOT lawfull. The man is evil and happy with his pen.

No, the TII is about 200 lbs more stock vs. stock than the GXL.

Stock TII ~2845
Stock GXL manual ~2625

EDIT:
Those are for S4's, s5's numbers are different (more).

I'm interested in weighing my car after I finish with the supercharger installation. Can you just go to a truck weighing station and fork over some dough?

Possibly, but I just looked in the yellow pages for places that I would think would have a scale and called first.

That's pretty good.

My old S4 GXL, stock, with leather interior and a sub, came in at 2740.

My current Sport with a bit of weight redux is hovering around 2450. (2580 stock.)

Overall, for the weight to be falling in the average non-turbo weight class is pretty good.

Yeah, sometime this week Im gonna take the carpet out, seperate the foam from it, and remove all of the sound deadening in the car also. Does anyone have any ideas how much weight that would save? After I can afford some more mods, I'm probably going to put some Recaro non-reclinable seats in it also..

Anyone know how much the stock seats weigh? My drivers seat weighs 11 pounds, so I was wondering what kind of weight savings I got.

Hmm I've been wondering what I'll weigh in at.

S4 GTU(power sunroof, mirrors,PS, and AC) With CF TII hood and TII engine/tranny.

I'm hoping I'll still be lighter than a stock TII since I don't have some of the luxuries a GXL or TII came with.

Oh yeah.............
For a cheap weight check.

Go to your local Garbage fill lot and get weighed. I bet you can either slip the guy some $$ or you can do it the legit way.

Say you have garbage in the hatch.

They will weigh you when you go in.
Then weigh youwhen you leave to figure your garbage output.

That's how I found out my old truck weighed 2300lbs

I'll be running to the dragstrip after I get all of my tuning done, so maybe I could weigh my car there.

Personally I have an '86 base with power windows and a sunroof, w/ racing seats, aluminum hood, no jack/spare, and I'd like to remove my A/C system. Also, I think this single cat/header system I have weighed at something like 35lbs. less than the stock cats and exhaust manifold.

Why put garbage in your car when you can find someplace with a digital scale that will weigh it for 6 dollars?

I'd rather pay 6 bucks that put trash in my car, I have a full mint interior, I'm just stripping weight from places that dont make my car look like ***, or smell like *** for now

Maybe dont strip the insulation under the carpet where the factory ecu goes. The heat from the DP really comes through. Just a tip
