Weighed My Car Today

It's a '89 TII with the A/C and PS removed and converted to manual rack. No ABS either. Full 2.5" exhaust with a JIC Twin 505 catback. Weighed the car with 3/4 tank of gas and the spare tire still in there. And the results are..... 2760 lbs.

actually a S5 'vert would be heavier.

and both your's and Neevosh's weights sounds about exactly right on

~2650? The base model is rated at 2625 and it has no LSD, big brakes, stiffer suspension and anti-sway bars, better seats, etc. Of course, the base model number considers the likelyhood of an option or two, like AC.

3450 lbs! That's like an Escalade!

My title says my 87 Turbo II weighs 3000, I didnt think that was right at all.
Plus the title for my friends 1980 Tercel said it weighed 2500 lbs, when that thing cant weigh more than 1900 with no gas or driver.

Anyhow, what the lightest street driven 2G anyone has seen?

well the guy that was doing the weighing was a retard...weighed half the car at a time and added up the total with him in it both times as well.

Just run over to a trucker weigh station when there are no truckers there. Simple, free and accurate

I should weigh it now, that sounds pretty light. Can you really roll through a truck weigh station after hours?, and how on earth did they add 300+ lb's to the s5's? does plush interior, AC and a sunroof really weigh that much?

Oh, I also removed my airpump and all the smog and idle control mumbo jumbo. I removed the sound insullation but still have the tar in there. I'm gonna try to get my car down to 2700 lbs. I weighed my car on a truck scale so I'm not sure how accurate the weight is.

The Sport was only 2633 w/air, and does have the lighter 4 piston front brakes, heavy duty suspension, stiffer stabilzer bars and the same seats as the base and Luxury models.

We weighed an '86 sport, no options but AC, aluminum hood. 100% stock, original owner. 2600lbs

87 TII, 100% stock, 2880 lbs

87 TII, 100% stock, 2800 lbs

95 Maxima SE, auto trans, 3050lbs

93 R1, 100% stock, 2760 lbs

92 F-150, ext cab, 4x4, w/351 V8, 5600lbs!

Don't know the gas levels on the cars, that might explain the differences in the TIIs.

He took the number off the driver side plate in the door sill. That's the gross vehicle weight (max. allowable weight with occupants & cargo etc.)

No that is incorrect unless you have a 4 seater (which less than 15% were).

Its the maximum laden weight, which is figured at two 250 lbs occupants and 250-500 lbs of luggage (so about 750-1000 lbs on top of the cars weight).

We have a second gen in our club NA with 330k miles on it and it weighs 2180 lbs and tears the quarter up @ low 14s. Stock port. all original. He is getting some slicks to hit the 13s.

Where'd he shed all the weight exactly? That's a lot of pounds.
