Wink The Weekly Oil Thread

Alright so im guna be changing all my fluids out soon, ive been using 10w30 Valvoline Max life on my non rebuilt 90GTU.
I was using mobil 1 before but switched just because i cant find a straight answer on the synthetic in a rotary deal.

Downshifting into 2nd is terrible, i have to take it slow everytime and cant be going to fast, which is better royal purple or redline for tryin to get rid of that 2nd gear synro problem?

Some one throw me a good recommendation for the oil and weight as were getting into summer, should i stay with max life, heard castrol gtx was good.

Also no motor mods, other than the basic intake and straight piped cat.

...No it's the daily oil thread.

I really think people over analyze the tranny fluid issue. Pick a 75W90 synthetic and be done with it. If you have trouble getting it into gear, while downshifting blip the throttle to raise the revs. The idea is to essentially to reduce the work the syncros have to do.

If you are going to use a conventional oil for your engine then use a 20W50. If you are going to use a synthetic then you can use something with a lower first number (xxW50).

mobil 1 is good for the engine..
like snrub said try rev matchin a bit
and for the tranny try a bit up ATF maybe a 30% mic in there seems to help things a bit better

So do u think 2050 mobil 1 and a mazda oil filter sounds good for what i have, im coming up on 90,000 (non-rebuilt)

A mix of atf and gear lube? hmmm, what gear lube who u recommend, just any synthetic 7590?
