Which is the weakest 2nd gen rx-7?
The 'weakest' 2nd Gen is an 86-88 non-turbo.
However if you asked what the slowest 2nd Gen is, then it's the 88 Convertible. It's the heaviest being saddled with the weight of the convertible mechanism.
To answer your your second question, the fastest 2nd gen is the Turbo (obviously). The GXL is slightly slower than a GTU, GTUs, or Base model as it has all the power accessories which add weight.

it is simple: power to weight ratio
the 86-88 N/As had the least HP
the 'vert has the most weight
therefore, the 86-88 'verts are the weakest *ahem* not neccessarily but they are the "slowest", especially automatics(plus the tranny is also heavier).
