Hey guys, im stil learnin so bear with me. What the best year FC that you can get. I found an 89 T2 "restored" and its only 7 miles away from me. Its only $6500. What tends to go 1st on an FC. and rust, where does it usually appear 1st? Anything i should look for if i go see the thing? I beleive it has a new engine. if the body has a pooload of miles, should i just go for an FC with lower miles on the body without a rebuild or anthing? Thanks -alex-
and one more thing what year or years of FC's turbos should i look for. What do the better ones have as opposed to the not as good ones? . Im planning on running at least 300hp in the future. i want to start with the best car possible.

 

that price is a pretty weak point if you ask me. If its just restored with no mods he's asking for too much. The kelley blue book value for a mint conditoin 89TII with 0 miles is $4080. for those extra $2000 he better have thrown in a lot of mods. Other than that, find out who did the rebuild and get reciepts if you can. Check the undercarriage for rust, uder the carpet, etc. Check to make sure the body is straight. If it was recently painted, check to see if the reason for the paint was to cover up accident damage. See if the vehicle vin matches the title. Do a vin check on carfax...its only 14.95. Ask if it was properly broken in. Go see it and warm it up as you check for leaks. Give it a test drive...check for smoke.....drive it hard and check the coolant temp.
